- Passed with nearly unanimous support and no debate
In the opening substantive business of the third night of the Annual Town Meeting, members voted to approve Article 34, which authorizes the establishment of a tax title collection revolving fund for the Milton Treasurer/Collector. The article involved the local acceptance of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 60, Section 15B.
Select Board Chair Winston Daly spoke in favor of the measure, noting that the board had reviewed the legal language and encouraged its passage. The select board reviewed all the language within and we encourage the board to move forward with this article,
Daly said. The measure allows the town to better manage funds related to the collection of tax titles.
There was no discussion from the floor or the Warrant Committee regarding the article. The town continues to refine its long-term fiscal management as it faces a projected structural deficit in the coming years.
